Disclaimer & Legal Notice

SkipSlop is an independently developed, community-informed tool for identifying, labeling, and optionally skipping content that users may consider to be low-quality AI-generated material ("slop").

Scope

This page applies to (a) the skipslop.com website, (b) any associated browser extensions, and (c) any public pages, directories, indicators, or labels generated or displayed by SkipSlop.

This notice is provided for transparency. It does not replace the Privacy & Security page or any other notices. In case of discrepancies between translated versions, the English version shall prevail.

Nature of Listings (Opinion, Not Fact)

Any listing, label, score, confidence indicator, tooltip, or notice shown by SkipSlop is a best-effort, community-informed assessment. It is not a factual determination about any artist's identity, intent, morality, creative process, or compliance with any platform rules.

Where SkipSlop indicates that something is AI-generated, synthetic, or "slop", that indication should be understood as a subjective opinion regarding the quality and origin of the content based on currently available signals.

No Accuracy Guarantee

Since SkipSlop relies on manual user reports submitted via the browser extension, mistakes can happen. Users might flag content incorrectly. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee it.

SkipSlop does not guarantee that any listing or label is accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your specific use case.

No Assertion of Wrongdoing

Being listed or flagged does not imply wrongdoing, deception, theft, fraud, or violation of law or platform terms by any person or entity. AI tooling exists on a broad spectrum and may be used legitimately.

Community Submissions - Separate Views

Much of the information used by SkipSlop is submitted, suggested, or voted on by members of the public via the SkipSlop extension. Community submissions are the submitters' views, not statements of fact and not statements by SkipSlop.

SkipSlop may review, moderate, summarize, aggregate, or remove submissions, but does not and cannot guarantee that every submission is true, fair, non-defamatory, or complete.

Third-Party Platforms - No Affiliation; Terms Apply

SkipSlop is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any third-party platform unless explicitly stated.

Third-party names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and compatibility purposes only.

Your use of any third-party service remains subject to that service's terms, rules, and policies. SkipSlop does not grant you any right to access, copy, extract, or use third-party data in ways prohibited by those terms. You are responsible for your own compliance.

Data Source & Technical Operation

SkipSlop does NOT use web crawlers, scrapers, bots, or automated parsing tools to collect data from any streaming or third-party platform. We do not use any third-party APIs.

All listings and labels are generated exclusively from manual user reports submitted via the SkipSlop browser extension and direct community contributions. The system functions as a passive aggregator of human feedback.

SkipSlop does not host, store, copy, or distribute any copyrighted source material (such as audio files, artwork, or lyrics). The system relies solely on publicly available identifiers (e.g., URL slugs or IDs) to associate user labels with content.

Corrections, Disputes, and Removal Requests

Artists, rights holders, or authorized representatives may request review, correction, clarification, or removal of a listing if they believe it is inaccurate or misleading. Provide relevant context or evidence where possible.

Use the Content Removal page or the Contact page to reach us. We review requests in good faith and may update, annotate, reduce confidence, or remove entries at our discretion.

Removal requests do not require legal justification and we aim to process them within 7 days.

In disputed cases, we may temporarily hide the entry during review.

Acceptable Use

SkipSlop is intended for personal transparency and content-quality preferences. Do not use SkipSlop to harass, threaten, defame, or target individuals or communities.

We may remove content, limit features, or block abusive usage patterns to protect users and the integrity of the project.

No Professional Advice

Content provided by SkipSlop is for informational and transparency purposes only and does not constitute legal, professional, technical, or financial advice. If you need advice, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

Software Provided "As Is"

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SkipSlop is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SkipSlop and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, reputation, data, or other intangible losses.

This includes (without limitation) claims arising from inaccurate labels, removals, non-removals, moderation decisions, service downtime, or your reliance on information presented by SkipSlop.

Your Responsibility

You use SkipSlop at your own risk and are responsible for your actions, including how you interpret, share, or rely on information from SkipSlop and how you use third-party platforms.

Changes

SkipSlop may update this notice and may modify or discontinue features at any time. Listings and indicators are not permanent classifications and may change as new information becomes available.

Intellectual Property

The SkipSlop name, logo, extension code, and database structure are the intellectual property of the developers. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or misappropriate the codebase without permission.

Nature of Stored Data (URIs only)

SkipSlop stores purely functional string identifiers (IDs) submitted by users, along with aggregate statistical counters (e.g., vote counts and timestamps). These identifiers are not creative works and are used solely for indexation purposes.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms and any disputes involving SkipSlop shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hungary (European Union), without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Unless statutory consumer protection laws provide otherwise, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Hungary for the resolution of any disputes.
